I've hiked both ways and kept things fun taking time to swim etc. There is a fantastic camp site near mowarry point, a very faint track leads off to a beach campground which is very spectacular. While the weather wasn't perfect it didn't really detract from the beauty. We did the track under light to light tours (self guided).
