WebFeb 27, 2024 · One of the most common features I use in excel is the Ctrl+Enter/Ctrl+Shift+Enter that allows one to put a formula in a single cell and populate each successive row/column with the corresponding row/column variables; whether it be a vertical selection, or a horizontal selection (slightly different behaviors). WebJun 25, 2024 · My guess is: if we press ctrl+shift+Enter, it will take Excel longer to process the formula simply because it is expecting to have to process an "array formula". Also, there is another way to enter formulas: select a range of cells, and press ctrl+Enter (without shift). That is not an array-entered formula.
