Chiropractic quacks
Throughout its history, chiropractic has been the subject of internal and external controversy and criticism. According to magnetic healer Daniel D. Palmer, the founder of chiropractic, "vertebral subluxation" was the sole cause of all diseases and manipulation was the cure for all disease. So, basically, the field stole one valid medical intervention, hamstrung it along with the rest of it's quackery, and continues to try and justify it's existence because that one valid medical intervention is valid.
